Amber Kane booth shots from New York Now

It’s been just a few weeks since I wrapped up my first trade show. I’ll be the first to admit, that once I found out that I was accepted into the show, I was a bit overwhelmed. New York Now carried a big price tag, and with that came a lot of pressure. Well of course  the pressure was relative, as it was all coming from me. I was thankful to have Megan Auman, of Designing an MBA there to walk me through the process, and decided that I would share the love with you.

No matter the show, the first few times are always a bit nerve racking. You’re just not sure what to do, or what to expect, so Nick and I sat down and talked about inventory, booth set and break down, collecting leads, and interacting with your customers.  To get the inside tips, click to listen to the interview.

If you’re looking for more booth display ideas, check out my booth ideas pinterest board.

PS: The PA Guild of Craftsmen is looking to adjust and expand their marketing efforts. As an artist,  leave a comment sharing what tools would you want a show to provide, to help you spread the word?

If you’re not selling at a craft show, here are a few local shows to attend.

Amber KaneMy creative practice is far from the traditional weaver. When warping the loom I never count the ends, I just go until I feel that it's time to stop. I don't follow patterns, I allow and sometimes encourage the yarn to move as it wraps around the front beam. If a string breaks, I work it into the piece. I create from my soul. I speak to the yarn as we weave together, striving to create the perfect connection, and when we become in sync a fabulous scarf, full of honesty, joy, and personality emerges.
